Two years after the launching ceremony of the foundation stone of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) Academy, in Oeiras, Prime Minister António Costa delivered the key of the building to NCIA’s General Manager, Kevin Scheid.

The Prime Minister considered that having this Academy in Portugal represents a national commitment to NATO, emphasizing that it “gives credibility to the Portuguese vision of a strong transatlantic community, open to the world, respecting and promoting international law, democracy and the rule of law and multilateralism”.

The Minister of National Defence, João Gomes Cravinho, also attended the ceremony, and highlighted that having this Academy on national soil “constitutes an excellent opportunity for synergies and partnerships with Portuguese academic and business institutions”.

The NCI Academy aims to provide education and training in the areas of communications and information systems and cyber-defence.
